Here’s a selection of garage door related frequently asked questions which may assist you.
My roller door won't shut / won't shut all the way / beeps.
This may be your safety edge sensor needing batteries replaced, see instructions. Batteries can be purchased from Amazon.
This could be the motor failing especially if your door will only partially open with assistance, or from 1/2 way up. We can replace motors from £360.00. Send us a video of your door and we maybe able to diagnose from that!
If this doesn’t work, please call us 01603 721610 or contact us and we can arrange a visit.
How can I pay you?
We accept BACs, cheque and cash. You can always pay Ian and Jack by card, face to face only.
Can my old door be repaired or automated?
We can carry out most repairs at first visit, obviously for less common doors we may have to order parts.
If you email some photos of your door and potential problems, we can always check prior to visiting.
For automation queries, if possible email some photos of your garage door to us at howlettgaragedoors@gmail.com and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible with a response.
What type of warrenty do you have?
All of our work is guaranteed for 1 year on repairs and motor changes.
Garador & Aluroll have their own warranties, and we remain registered warranty installers for Garador UK.
How do I buy a garage door from you?
Easy! Either ring or email, we can then email a price list to you for which ever door you’d like. If you’re happy with the initial price, we then arrange a survey. Ian and jack will visit, you can confirm colour and style. We then ask for a 20% deposit, once received well order your new garage door. You just sit back and wait!
Once your new garage door comes into stock Sarah will contact you to arrange installation. Please discuss potential installation dates with Ian at your visit.
What types of garage door do you sell?
We sell up and over Garage door, roller garage doors, sectional garage doors and side hinged garage doors.
We mainly use Garador, Aluroll & Alutech as our suppliers
Do we charge a call out fee?
We don’t have a call out fee, and there is no charge for a survey or if we can’t fix your door. Our prices start at £60.00 for a service / minor repair and pricing examples can be found in the repair section on this site.
